What is the Type Ahead Feature in the TS360 Product Search box?
As you begin typing text within the Product Search field, suggestions will display as a drop-down. You can select one of these suggestions by clicking on it with your mouse.
Any time someone selects one of the suggested items, it is recorded in our database as a hit. The aggregate hit for a given keyword is then fed back nightly through FAST as a frequency count for a given keyword and used to drive the sort order in future suggestions.
The idea is that if users are frequently selecting a given suggestion item, then it is more than likely a more relevant, and therefor useful, keyword.
